Project IGI2: Covert Strike, a PAN Vision title, was banned in March by the country's State Press and Publication Administration for portraying the Chinese army in a manner that officials found objectionable. Net cafes that provide downloads of banned games - or fail to prevent users from downloading, installing or playing the games on their own - will be fined or shut down.
China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported that websites hosted within the country's borders are banned from releasing the game, all CD-ROM copies will be confiscated, and sellers who ignore the ban will be subject to unspecified punishment.
